First up, let’s verify if you have a leak

Step 1.    Find your water meter

If you live in a house, your water meter is typically located outside, near the front gate or fence. For apartments or units, it’s connected to the main water meter and may be found near your front door or in a service cupboard. If you're unsure of the location, reach out to your building manager or owner's corporation.

Once located, take note of the numbers on the meter.

Step 2.   Stop using any water

Shut off all water taps and appliances except for the stop tap located next to the water meter and the toilet.

Step 3.   Wait for 2 hours

Avoid using any water for 2 hours to get an accurate reading.

Step 4.   Check your meter again

If the numbers on your water meter have changed or the dial has moved, it could indicate a leak. Contact MGR Leak Detection on 0400 868 137.

Have a digital water meter?

Lift the cover of your water meter and activate the display by placing your finger over the three dots. To switch to the kL/h or M³/h screen (which measures kilolitres or cubic meters per hour), hold your finger over the three dots for three seconds. This will show the flow rate of water through the meter.
